The Truth About Chronic
and Why the Medical Establishment
is Trying to Hide it From You
Dear Health Conscious Reader,
I’ve recently come across an extraordinary discovery that has changed my life.
If you experience any kind of chronic or regular pain I believe it could also change your life.
I’m going to reveal everything you need to know to try out these secrets for yourself. But, I’m going to do more than that. I’m going to provide you with scientific proof and an explanation as to how these ancient secrets work.
I will provide you with evidence of credible studies done with established procedures and protocols executed by accredited researchers and facilities.
I will do this because I want you to understand that although these are ancient secrets that very few people know about, they are very real and powerful.
In fact, I will provide you with the specifics of these studies so that if you want you can search them out and verify their authenticity for yourself.
Before I get into all of this, if you’ll allow me I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.
I want to do this because I feel that if you know a little bit about my own experiences with pain and how I’ve been able to overcome these challenges, it will help you to decide if the information I’m sharing with you is trustworthy.
When I Went to Physical Therapy
They Asked If I Could Even Get Around
My name is Larry Berman and I’m editor of a natural health newsletter called Naturecast Health Alerts.
I’m still a relatively young man of about fifty.
And I’ve maintained a pretty active lifestyle. But, I’ve been burdened with various back and neck pain and assorted other joint problems.
Not that long ago I decided I’d try some physical therapy to see if it would help.
When the therapist examined me he actually looked at me with incredulity and asked if I could even get around on a daily basis.
I testily replied that I could at which point he proceeded to manipulate my neck. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it better. He made it quite a bit worse.
I left feeling a bit hopeless.
Then, recently I came across something that has really given me hope.
It turns out that there are options other than these expensive physical therapies, risky surgeries and assorted medications packed with dangerous side effects.
I’ll be honest with you. When I first heard about these methods I was skeptical.
I wondered why all of this miraculous pain relief could be readily available, yet almost nobody knows about it.
So, let me share with you what I learned.
The People Making Big Profits
Don’t Want You to Know About It!
The pain business is big business.
That’s because if you’re in pain, you’re not alone.
Health experts estimate that as many as 50 million Americans live with chronic pain caused by disease or disorder. And an additional 25 million people suffer acute pain resulting from surgery or an accident.(1)
Plus, approximately two thirds of the people in pain have been living with this pain for more than five years. (2) The most common types of pain include arthritis, lower back, bone/joint pain, muscle pain and Fibromyalgia.
Because pain is so common it’s a multibillion dollar business.
You’ve got the narcotic pain pills and all of the anti-inflammatory medicines that pour in mountains of cash for the pharmaceutical companies (according to Forbes.com just one arthritis pain pill alone rakes in $1.1 billion a year!).
Besides the expense these prescription
pain killers can be dangerous.
There are basically two kinds of prescription drugs that are used for pain. Each type has very serious potential side effects.
The first class of risky prescription drugs are Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
These drugs stop cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX enzymes) in your body from working. COX enzymes speed up your body's production of hormone-like substances called prostaglandins.
Prostaglandins cause the feeling of pain by irritating your nerve endings. They are also part of the system that helps your body control its temperature.
By reducing the level of prostaglandins in your body, NSAIDs help relieve pain from conditions like arthritis.
Unfortunately, these drugs have many serious potential side effects:
- Dizziness or headache
- Nausea, excess gas, diarrhea or constipation
- Extreme tiredness or weakness
- Dry mouth
- Allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the lips, tongue or face
- Muscle cramps, numbness or tingling
- Rapid weight gain
- Black, bloody or tarry stools
- Blood in urine or vomit
- Decreased hearing or ringing in the ears
- Yellowing of skin and eyes (jaundice)
- Abdominal cramping, heartburn or indigestion
With all of that to contend with, I could see that NSAIDs weren’t my answer. So, I thought about maybe just taking a prescription drug that just masked the pain.
These pain relief drugs target the central nervous system, so you simply don’t feel the pain. Unfortunately these drugs also have grave potential side effects.
- High addiction risk
- Possible withdrawal symptoms when ceasing ingestion
- Potential for overdose that can cause severe breathing difficulty or even death
- Long term use can cause internal damage to organs like the liver
Then, you’ve got all the doctors doing surgeries and the physical therapy companies making a fortune as well.
You don’t need a business degree from Harvard to realize that all of the people that profit from your pain and discomfort…
DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR OTHER OPTIONS!
Now, don’t get me wrong.
There are certainly times when people do require prescription medications or medical interventions such as surgery.
But, these should be last resorts because there is another option.
You can get relief from your pain without any prescriptions, doctor’s appointments, physical therapists or any other expensive treatments.
In fact, you won’t even need to leave your house at all.
I’m going to give you all the information you’ll need, but first I want you to imagine how your life could be if you weren’t saddled with pain.
- Get out of bed without dreading the day
- Sleep comfortably because you are pain free
- Participate in physical activities without pain
- Feel happy and no longer irritable and grumpy from pain
- Work better and more effectively without pain dragging you down
- Have a sense of confidence and a new zest for life
An Ancient Pain Relief System
That is Thousands of Years Old
As the editor of a natural health newsletter you can imagine that I hear quite a bit about different programs and systems that can benefit people.
So, of course just like you probably have, I’ve heard about how great yoga is.
I don’t really know why, but for some reason it never intrigued me before. Then, I read a report regarding yoga that noted that about 15.8 million people practice it in the United States and it has been practiced for at least several thousand years.
I thought to myself that it must be good or why would so many people do it?
Nevertheless, I continued to see it as just another stretching program.
That is until I began doing some research for myself and found out that it can be much more.
Prove It’s Pain Relief Efficacy
I discovered that there is significant proof that the right kind of yoga exercises can reduce or eliminate pain for people suffering from some of the most common areas of pain like:
It can even be a useful part of the treatment plan for many medical conditions as varied as heart disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, epilepsy, asthma, and addiction.
I promised earlier to provide you with some scientific proof that yoga can actually reduce pain. So, below are just a few of the results from studies and if you want to look up the research for yourself the footnotes on the bottom provide the study details
- In a 12 week randomized controlled trial researchers concluded that yoga reduced chronic low back pain and that the benefits persisted for an extended period of time.(3)
- In a 7 day randomized control study on the effect of short-term intensive yoga program on pain, functional disability and spinal flexibility in chronic low back pain the yoga based program reduced pain-related disability and improved spinal flexibility in patients.(4)
- In this randomized controlled study, 60 patients with common neck pain were assigned to two groups (yoga, n=30) and (control, n=30). The Mann-Whitney test given to both groups after the treatment with yoga showed significant difference between groups in pain, tenderness, neck movements. Neck disability index Scores and state of anxiety showed higher reduction in yoga than that in the control group. (5)
- The Journal of Rehabilitation, Research and Development reported that three different studies suggested a positive benefit of yoga. They found that patients who practiced yoga demonstrated significantly decreased pain and improvements in functional disability compared with an education control groups. (6)
Let me be clear. The studies cited above are just a drop in the bucket of research that confirms that yoga most definitely can help people reduce and eliminate pain.
Almost Anyone Can Do Yoga
Kelly McGonigal, PhD, author of a new book titled Yoga for Pain Relief says:
“If you thought yoga was only for the extremely fit and limber, think again. If you can breathe, you can do yoga.”
My next concern was that the people suffering frompain would actually be able to physically do the exercises.
After all, I’d seen the pictures of practitioners gettinginto positions I couldn’t get into even if you pointed agun to my head.
But, my research relieved those concerns.
It turns out that many times those who are not inherently flexible actually benefit from yoga the most. In addition, most yoga poses can be modified for beginners so that everyone can do a version of the poses.
So, my next challenge was to search out a qualified practitioner that could provide instruction in the right kind of techniques.
I am very pleased to say that after interviewing dozens of candidates I found just the right person for the job.
Introducing Courtney Gallo!
Courtney is a highly skilled professional yoga practitioner who is certified by The National Yoga Alliance with in-depth training in Hatha Yoga, Hands-on yoga, Chair Yoga, and Restorative Yoga.
In addition she has also studied alternative medicine in college and finds that this additional medical background really helps her offer clients the right techniques.
In her instructional DVD program, Yoga For a Pain Free Life, Courtney will teach you in the privacy of your own home a series of postures and exercises that are proven to help relieve people of pain from the back, neck and shoulders.
All you do is pop the DVD into your DVD player or a computer and she will take you through each movement step by step.
Courtney explains onscreen the correct way to do these positions and how they actually help reduce the pain in your body.
For those people who aren’t flexible or are in too much pain, many of these exercises can actually even be done when you’re in your bed. And for every technique there are modifications if you need to make them easier.
In the first section, Courtney actually talks about techniques you might want to use before you get out of bed and start your day.
When you see Courtney on camera her amazing physical condition, expertise and enthusiasm will shine right through.
I’ve shown you the scientific research which proves that yoga can get rid of your pain, but you should also hear from some actual people it’s helped.
Listen to how yoga
has helped these real people:
“It’s the only thing that’s keep me at all flexible.”
Mike Harding, 72
“It strengthens my core, improves my balance, my flexibility.”
